Sometimes it's the fault of the person getting the tattoo, sometimes it's the woefully inadequate work of the tattoo artist, and sometimes it's hard to tell whose fault it is. The spelling is not to everyone's liking (sorry). Unfortunately, the same sounds in spoken English can be written in a variety of ways. This is mainly because English has borrowed many words from other languages. When you misspell a word in pencil, it's easy to erase it, but what happens when you write it in ink?
