Luno partners Shopee to offer cryptocurrencies on e-commerce platform
KUALA LUMPUR: Luno Malaysia is partnering Shopee to offer Malaysians access to deals, discounts and vouchers on the e-commerce platform, which customers can use to convert into cryptocurrencies on crypto exchange platform Luno.
Luno, via Shopee, is offering several bitcoin vouchers ranging from RM15 to RM200, priced between 88 sen to RM189.88, for new Luno users to use on the exchange.
“Being a regulated exchange allows us to explore new ways of expanding access to crypto for users in Malaysia. An innovative approach is to leverage the breadth and depth of e-commerce players like Shopee.
“We expect this effort to drive massive awareness and adoption, making it easy for users on Shopee to access crypto and begin their investment journey. We certainly look forward to working closely with Shopee on further groundbreaking projects,”said Luno Malaysia country manager Aaron Tang.
Shopee Malaysia head of Shopee Mall, Kenneth Soh, said this partnership is another example of how the e-commerce platform is staying ahead of the competition.
“In 2019, Shopee enabled the purchase of properties, cars, F&B (food and beverage) deals and more on our platform. In January 2020, we are now giving our users the opportunity to try their hands at cryptocurrency, through this collaboration with Luno,” he said.
