GBPUSD Forecast. 29/12/2016

GU_29_12_2016.png

The GBPUSD had a moderate bearish momentum yesterday bottomed at 1.2200. The bias remains neutral in nearest term but as long as stay below 1.2320 price is still in a bearish phase as a part of the bearish scenario after broke below the trend line support (see my H1 chart below) and any upside pullback should be seen as a good opportunity to sell. Immediate resistance is seen around 1.2250. A clear break above that area could trigger further bullish pressure testing 1.2300/20 region. Immediate support is seen around 1.2200 – 1.2170.

A clear break and daily close below that area would expose 1.2080/00 region.

The GBPUSD had a moderate bullish momentum yesterday topped at 1.2274 and hit 1.2308 earlier today in Asian session. The bias is bullish in nearest term testing 1.2320 key resistance which is a good place to sell with a tight stop loss. Immediate support is seen around 1.2250. A clear break below that area could lead price to neutral zone in nearest term testing 1.2200 – 1.2170 support area.

On the upside, a clear break and daily/weekly close above 1.2320 could trigger further bullish scenario testing 1.2400 – 1.2500 region next week.

The GBPUSD attempted to push lower yesterday bottomed at 1.2198 but closed a little bit higher at 1.2236. As you can see on my H1 chart below, price broke below the trend line support, suggests a potential bearish scenario. The bias is neutral in nearest term, probably with a little bearish bias testing 1.2170 support area. A clear break and daily close below that area would expose 1.2100 – 1.2080 region. Immediate resistance is seen around 1.2275.

A clear break above that area could trigger further bullish pressure testing 1.2320 or higher.

The GBPUSD had a bullish momentum yesterday topped at 1.2352. The bias is bullish in nearest term testing 1.2400 region. Immediate support is seen around 1.2300. A clear break below that area could lead price to neutral zone in nearest term testing 1.2250 area.

On the upside, a clear break and daily close above 1.2400 would expose 1.2500 area.

The GBPUSD attempted to push lower yesterday, bottomed at 1.2270 but whipsawed to the upside and topped at 1.2432. The bias remains bullish in nearest term testing 1.2500 – 1.2550 area and the trend line resistance as you can see on my H1 chart below. Immediate support is seen around 1.2360.

A clear break below that area could lead price to neutral zone in nearest term testing 1.2300 region.

GU_9_1_2017.jpg

The GBPUSD had another indecisive movement last week. Price attempted to push higher topped at 1.2431 but whipsawed to the downside and closed lower at 1.2282 and hit 1.2246 earlier today in Asian session. The bias is bearish in nearest term retesting 1.2200 key support. A clear break and daily close below that area would expose 1.2080/00 this week. Immediate resistance is seen around 1.2315.

A clear break above that area could lead price to neutral zone in nearest term as direction would become unclear.

The GBPUSD attempted to push lower yesterday, bottomed at 1.2037 but whipsawed to the upside and closed higher at 1.2207. The bias is neutral in nearest term. As you can see on my daily chart below, we have a strong/major support at 1.2000 region so seeing some GBP demand near that level should not be a surprise. Immediate support is seen around 1.2125. A clear break below that area could trigger further bearish pressure testing 1.2080/37 area. Immediate resistance is seen around 1.2235.

A clear break above that area could trigger further bullish pressure testing 1.2300 region.
