Trading capital needed to get started

size your account so a worst-case drawdown doesn’t touch your lifestyle - capital comfort keeps you objective. I started with an amount that made a 10% drawdown ‘annoying but irrelevant’ and grew only after proving the system live

Many people say you need thousands of dollars, but I disagree. You should only trade with money you can afford to lose. Start small to test your strategy in real market conditions. Most beginners lose their first deposit, so do not start too big.

There, you can immediately see how the strategy works, what lot sizes are best for keeping your account safe, and what your maximum drawdown is. Only then can you open a live trading account with the same amount.
