So I've been having an issue with my system lately. I have 3 systems on a wireless network, 2 XP and 1 Vista. All connect wirelessly to the our wireless router. We use Comcast as our high speed internet. The 2 XP systems connect at over 15Mbps, yet the Vista machine (my machine) connects at 5Mbps most of the time. Every once in a while I'll see it get to the speeds of the other devices, but it never lasts and goes back.
I am using a MyEssentials USB Wireless Adapter, and sadly cannot easily connect directly to the router to see if that fixes the issue (though I highly suspect it will).
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing the slow down? I tried fiddling with many different settings (different channels, G mode vs. Mixed mode, disabling IPV6, etc.) and haven't had any success yet.
Suggestions?
