Mother's boyfriend arrested over alleged sexual harassment of schoolgirl
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a 51-year-old man over the alleged sexual harassment of a 15-year-old girl here.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said the man was arrested after the alleged offence came to light during investigations into the death of the girl's younger sister.
He said the suspect is the deceased girl's mother's boyfriend.
"The case was uncovered following police investigations into the death of the 14-year-old girl.
"The victim in this case is the deceased's 15-year-old sister. We have opened an investigation paper against the suspect under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017," he said today.
The suspect has been remanded for seven days until Aug 31 to facilitate investigations.
