The Transfer program is basically a 2+2 sort of thing most colleges in Malaysia do with UK/Aus universities, the only reason its not called a 2+2 program is because ADP is not tied down to one university, because the of the way the system works. You're allowed to freely choose the university of your choice, which will accept your credits, because not all universities recognize the coursework done in Transfer Programs in Malaysia. The transfer program is exactly similar to community colleges in America, which is almost always the cheaper solution compared to doing all 4 years in 4-year degree university.
The courses that you would take in your first couple of years would mostly be courses that pertain to your major of choice with some compulsory general studies subjects such as English, math, and some electives that you are free to choose, like say sociology/history/religion/literature and so on.
And the time line for studying in an American based education compared to an Aus/UK based education is not that much different. In ADP you do not have to do your pre-U or A-levels to be accepted in to ADP, however you would have to do either to be considered for entering a Aus/UK university.
