Analisa Crude Palm Oil Futures (FCPO) 15/02/2017

Technical

Crude Palm Oil futures traded at Bursa Malaysia pared its losses as it settled 0.4% higher on Tuesday trading. The benchmark April 2017 delivery gained RM13 to settle at 3,049 ringgit per metric ton. Total volume traded recorded at 62,482 lots while open interest rose to 202,853 contracts from 199,810 contracts.

We use hourly chart to analyse potential movement of FCPO for intraday trading. Using Weekly PIVOT as guidance, yesterday’s rebound from the low of MYR3,010 and WS1 was capped within PIVOT point. Given the momentum reading, we expect FCPO to test the upper resistance, between 50.0% and 72% Fibonacci Retracement levels as well as WR1 at MYR3,073 to MYR3,100. Failing to breach the aforementioned levels could see a pullback toward current support.
