In the news today:

Lille’s imminent move for England midfielder, Joe Cole, could well pave the way for Arsène Wenger to make his move for Eden Hazard.

Lille have repeatedly said that they do not want to sell Hazard, but their own keenness to sign a winger now suggests otherwise.

The French outfit made a bid for Chelsea star, Yossi Benayoun, but the Israeli international rejected their advances, leaving the club to look elsewhere.

And it appears to be Liverpool’s Joe Cole where they see their next move on Deadline Day, hoping to sign the ace on a season-long loan deal.

M'vila, Hazard & Cahill kalau dapat, dah ok setelah kemasukan Park Chu 9, Martesacker & Andre Santos.

Nak lagi sedap, jual Arshavin ambil Marko Marin. Keeper pergi lah try Akinfeev. Wojciech Szczesny skrg ni asyik backup Wenger sbb nak tempat dia selamat.

Shock target on way for Arsenal medical?

By Footybunker

Is Honda on his way to Arsenal?Certain websites are suggesting that long term Arsenal target Keisuke Honda is on his way to North London today to partake in a medical and to discuss personal terms.

The Japanese international is held in very high regard by Arsene Wenger and reports had suggested that Arsenal were keen on the 25 year old at the beginning of the summer. With nothing at that time materialising it was believed that Wenger may have missed out however rumours that the side have agreed terms with CSKA Moscow are building fast.

His value at the start of the summer was believed to be around £10m-£15m however at such a late stage in the transfer window it is likely that his fee will have increased to around £18m plus.

Mertesacker deal expected to go through without a hitch

Bremen's director of sport Klaus Allofs expects the Mertesacker switch to be finalised without a hitch.

"Everything has been agreed between Werder and Arsenal," he told Germany's dpa agency. "There are just a few things that are missing before we can announce the transfer as complete."

That should now take place at a press conference in the German city, although Mertesacker's presence in Bremen is unlikely.

He is back with the Germany national team in Dusseldorf preparing for Friday's Euro 2012 qualifier with Austria and cannot expect to be given any more free time.

"Per asked me if he could have the day off because he had an offer," revealed Germany coach Joachim Low yesterday. "I expect him back this evening."

And when Germany take to the field on Friday night, Mertesacker's official club allegiance should read Arsenal - much to the disappointment of his Bremen team-mates.

"I am sad," said his central defensive partner Naldo. "I have played four years with him, but Arsenal is a top club."

Mertesacker will not leave Germany for long, though, since one of his first games as an Arsenal player will take him to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League in a fortnight's time.

Arsenal's unwanted striker in talks with Stoke - report

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is in talks with Stoke about a move to the Britannia Stadium, according to Sky Sports .

The Danish striker has been linked with a move away from the Emirates all summer after failing to establish himself in Arsenal's starting line-up.

Arsene Wenger left the 23-year-old out of the squad for their pre-season tour of Asia and confirmed he would be allowed to leave after seven years at the club.

It seems that Stoke will be the destination for the Denmark international after the player's father and agent was spotted at the club's training ground.

The Potters are also in talks with Birmingham striker Cameron Jerome and it looks like Bendtner could join him at the Britannia if he can agree terms and pass a medical.
