Toyota has released new details about the 2014 Verso.
First and foremost, the model can be equipped with a BMW-sourced 1.6-liter diesel engine that has received "extensive modifications" including a newly-developed dual-mass flywheel, revised engine mounts and completely redesigned electrical interfaces.
In terms of performance, the engine develops 110 bhp (82 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission which enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 12.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 185 km/h (115 mph). Thanks to a start/stop system, the model averages 62.8 mpg UK combined (4.5 L/100km / 52.2 mpg US) with CO2 emissions of 119 g/km.
Besides the new engine, the Verso gains a new Trend variant that has blacked out C-pillars to create the illusion of a floating roof. The model also has fog lights, privacy glass and unique 17-inch alloy wheels. Other highlights include front parking sensors, a rearview camera and GPS navigation.
