engineer ni byk bidangnya...byk scope keje...tak leh cakap kalo engineer je ,bidang construction, balik2 bina itu bina ini...mind set camtu salah..

kalo amik software engineering, kluar2 engineer gak,
amik network engineering, kluar2 engineer gak..
even database administrator pun sometimes org akan panggil engineer.

pasal gaji lak, kena tengok company n scope keje,
software engineer : kalo keje makan gaji, sikit n slow laa naiknya
kalo keje kat company luar negara - tp dok kat malaysia, (keje under company UK, gaji dalam Pound, duduk kat Malaysia, gaji 800pound pun dah cukup)

kalo keje bidang database : kalo jaga database phpmyadmin, gaji biasa2 je, kalo database oracle, gaji puluh riban, kalo gaji SQL etc, sekian2..

kalo technician ni more to technical, technician ni pun boleh "makan" byk, sbb diaorg keje ada OT,mileage, ada dpt double, triple gaji kalo keje time cuti..

so terpulang laa kat mindset masing2 untuk tuju ke arah bidang mana...

Pengalaman aku 7 tahun engineer dr company kecik smpi kompeni besar...skang position aku product and test development engineer...previously aku team leader...ada 5 senior eng and 40 tech report kat aku...kt sini dpt experient sbg leader...so...sbb apa aku aku move (in same company) to position lain...for knowledge...bila keje development, byk high tech information yg you exposed...bagus jugak...aku punya bos kt US and team member aku byk kt US and some kt Japan....so..exposure dgn cara kerja org negara lain bleh dpt...as engineer aku ada submit patent and technical paper...cuma 1 je dpt and lain just MIA...so, kt sini...as engineer, it will develop you to be researcher...yes engineer gaji bknnya byk mana...tp lg byk dr techincian la....so..apa aku buat...start a company....unfortunately...company yg aku ingat kami punya, rupa2nya aku just operation manager...sbb all the expenses are from their family...tp aku dpt la allowance sikit (dgn just bg advise)...and still as their technical advisor...gabra ke aku, sbb walaupun aku yg initiate company ni, legally ia bkn aku punya?...nope...as experience engineer, aku ada sikit knowldege...so...aku kumpul 4 friends (engineer jugak)..and we come out dgn idea o develop 1 system...kita dh sketch and it should work (ni experience dr aku, member 1 as development engineer, 1 more friend equipment eng, and 1 more friend electronic eng)...even skang aku tgh write business plan...
apa yg aku nk smpikan kt sini adalah...knowledge is the key here...whether you as techinican or engineer...cuma...engineer has more exposure compare to technician...tp ada jugak half dr engineer yg thinking cam technician, dia x kan success...and ada jugak few technican yg pikir cam eng, tp susah jugak nk success...sbb...walaupun in realiti..praktikal mmg penting...tp for you to grow...theory is more important...bila you jd engineer..expected you completed your degree dgn benda merapu yg you think x guna masa kerja (kononnya)....well...aku guna skang calculation yg aku ingat merapu masa U dulu...so..go for knowledge....

hmm...tgk explanation aku kt atas...grab the experience and knowledge while you are free to get it....selalunya people with high technical ability will be more relax...sbb dia tau apa nk buat...but who grow dgn just instruct people to do job without experience akan lebih gabra..sbb dia x tau nk buat apa bila issue arise...maybe dia will take 1 day to solve the issue while someone with high technical ability take 1 hour..or 15 min...it is true in my eperience....sbb tu tanpa technical ability...stress lebih..and then berenti...aku just nak share about reward...sometime when you are good...suddenly you'll get bonus in the middle of year..or masa review dpt lebih dr org lain...aku once dpt RM30K masa performance review x termasuk contractual bonus 3 month and profit sharing...itu unusual...and aku ni Melayu...n bos aku ni Cina...but yes...don't ever work for money...
