I don't see any difference in what indicator a trader uses.
The most important thing is that you can understand it and use it in practice, because we are all different and it will not be possible to create some universal algorithm for trading.

It seems to me that trading by levels is the most popular now, respectively, and the indicators that indicate the levels are currently the most effective and frequently used. All the more so because it is beneficial for the long-term perspective.

Moving Average Convergence/Divergence (MACD) is a Forex indicator designed to gauge momentum. Not only does it identify a trend, it also attempts to measure the strength of the trend. In terms of giving you a feeling for the strength behind the move, it is perhaps the best indicator for Forex.

Which are your favourite indicators and why?
All indicators are lagging but patterns based on them work in some setups so I use MACD, RSI and a couple of EMA to understand characteristics of recent price moves such as momentum, direction of trend or its absence, etc.
