Patrick Ewald dari Epic Pictures memperkenalkan pembeli Vikingdom (filem action adventure bernilai USD10 juta ) di AFM sesuai dengan perjanjian pengeluaran USD 30m dengan KRU Studios yang berpusat di Asia Tenggara.

Projek ini berdasarkan kepada puisi epik, Viking:Necklace Of Brisings dan akan dirakamkan dalam bentuk 3D stereoscopic sama seperti filem 300. Senarai pelakon akan diumumkan kemudian dan koreografer yang menggabungkan seni bela diri gaya Asia akan diketengahkan.

Epic dan KRU Studios telah memeterai perjanjian dan persepakatan untuk membuat enam filem action berbahasa Inggeris. Projek pertama bernilai anggaran Usd5 juta, The Malay Chronicles: Bloodlines adalah yang pertama akan ditayangkan dan Epic akan berfungsi sebagai penerbit eksekutif pada semua filem di bawah perjanjian tersebut.

Projek Epic Studios meliputi beberapa judul baru: cerita seram paranormal The Possession Of David O’Reilly; action title Kill Speed directed by Kim Bass; the $10m epic By The Will Of Genghis Khan; thriller Bear; 3D animated project Goat Story; serial killer thriller Junkyard Dog; and sci-fi thriller Drifter.

Epic juga mewakilkan JD Beaufils sebagai senior presiden jualan antarabangsa dan jualan antarabangsa eksekutifnya, Carol Lindemuth.

Beaufils sebelumnya menjawat sebagai wakil presiden jualan di seluruh dunia untuk Porchlight Entertainment dan sebelumnya berperanan besar di Bauer Martinez International, Overseas Filmgroup and First Look Media.

“Through my partnership with KRU studios and Norman Abd Halim [KRU Studios president] and Dr Shireen Hashim [who overseas international business operations], we are going to provide the market with what it demands: high-concept, visually striking movies with a star lead and Asian-style action,” kata Ewald.

Vikingdom :

Storyline

In the midst of time comes the clanging of steel against steel, a collision of myth and history.... "Vikingdom". Based on Viking legends and the epic poems they left as record, "Vikingdom" is a fantasy, action adventure about a forgotten king, Eirick, who was tasked with the impossible odds to defeat Thor, the God of Thunder. Thor is on a mission to gather the key ancient relics - "Mjolnir" - his hammer from Valhalla, "Necklace of Mary Magdalene" from Mitgard and the "Horn" from Helheim. This needs to be accomplished before the Blood Eclipse, which happens once every 800 years, failing which, the pagan Viking Gods will never be able to rule and conquer mankind ever again. Only one man can stop him... Eirick, the undead.
