Can't really disagree with you. Yeah, I've opened an account for active day trading with cryptoassets, not for investment purposes.
Yet, I agree with the above, you can not now for sure the bulls are tired speaking of the US economy. I rember thinking ot was way too late to invest when the snp index hit 3K.

Investing does not always mean buying and holding. Investing in some algorithmic trading is also an investment, but the algo can make money on both uptrending and downtrending market.

RobotS I'd say. There are many opportunities to invest here. Some of them suggest more conservative approach where the portfolio is diversified and some of the money is invested in bonds and fixed income insgtruments. Others are so called alternatives, where the algo does all the job. I wish there was a chance to have a closer look at the deals the robots do!

I don't trust anybody's management and I don't thin anybody can do a better job with your money than you can yourself. Of course this is not that easy, and gamblers are strictly prohibited from managing their money, but still...

That's a very unusual opinion :)
Professionals can do their job better then amateurs, no doubt. Why would anyone think that trading is different in this regard?

I think so as portfolio managers don't really care about how much profit they make. You do. Investors do. Managers don't. They charge their management fee in any case, even when they make you lose money, don't they?

Well, it depends. Trade/com offers several types of investment opportunities.
Algos are normally tested with real money and the firm is the one who stakes the money to run the algo for some time on live quotes to test if all is fine with it.
Same with the investment accounts. You are right, there is alsways some management fee there, but the firm makes more money if it make you profitable.
I.e they can have a fixed 0.5% management fee, but also charge 10-15% from your profits on account. In this case the more money they make for you, the more they will have for themselves.

I agree that the management fee of 1-2% regardless of the outcome of investment seems to be a very unfair deal. Why would anyone try making more money for you, if they can only collect several millions of investments and don't even try to earn anything. Yet, as my experience says, portfolio managers realy do their best to make money. If they can make you 10%yearly, this means not only more money in commissions for them personally. This will mean also some investmetn in the brand, in their good name, popularity and this would mean the opportunity to attract new clients. Regulated funds managers have to keep the results of their investmetns opensource. They can't risk their good name for nothing.

If you trust portfolio managers that much, why don't you invest yourself?
