An Indian company has just launched what is being billed as the world's cheapest smartphone which would cost just 251 rupees (RM15.30), Indian media reports.
The smartphone costing just about one percent of the price of Apple's iPhone has been unleashed by Indian company Ringing Bells and will be called Freedom 251.
A Ringing Bells spokewoman told AFP, “This is our flagship model and we think it will bring a revolution in the industry."
The smartphone sports a 4-inch 960×560 display, is powered by 1.3 GHz quadcore processor, and 1450mAh battery.
It comes with 1GB RAM and is packed with 8GB storage, that can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. There's also a 3.2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3MP front camera, according to its website.
The Freedom 251 runs Android 5.1, and offers a range of pre-installed apps: global ones such as WhatsApp, Facebook, and YouTube, along with others designed for the Indian market.
Interested? Hop on over to their website to book one. Bookings are open starting today, February 18 at 6am (India time) and close on 21 February at 8pm. The company says deliveries will be completed by 30th June 2016.
