Technical Analysis – EURUSD retreats from more-than 2-year high

EURUSD has retreated from a more-than 2-year high of 1.3966 hit on March 13 and has retraced more than 50% of the rally to this high from the February 27 low of 1.3642. The pair is resting just above the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement level of 1.3766.
There is no clear indication yet of a trend reversal and the retracement is currently viewed as a correction. MACD is still above zero although declining and RSI is close to 50. The market is trading above the 50 and 100-day moving averages which are both rising and this is a bullish signal.
A move to the upside will target 1.3805 resistance found at the 50% Fibonacci and the March 31 high and above this at 1.3841 (38.2% Fibonacci).
A dip below the 61.8% Fibonacci level will pressure prices towards support at 1.3711. A break below the February 27 low at 1.3641 will threaten the bullish scenario on the daily time frame.

GBPUSD is consolidating around 1.6573 which is the 50% Fibonacci retracement level of the recent upleg from the March 24 low (1.6464) to the March 31 high (1.6683).
The pair is looking bearish on the 4-hour chart after having declined steadily form the March 31 high. The 20-period moving average crossed below the 50-period, which is a bearish cross. RSI is below 50 and MACD is below zero.
Next support comes in a 1.6549 (61.8% Fibonacci and close to Friday’s and March 27 low). A break below this would strengthen the bearish momentum. Next support is found at 1.6512 (78.6% Fibonacci) and at 1.6468 (March 24 low).
Resistance comes in at 1.6600 (38.2% Fibonacci) and 1.6631 (23.6%b Fibonacci). Above this the March 31 high will be targeted at 1.6682.
