Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise Works Package Contractor (WPC) compliance and performance in-accordance with Safety & Health legal, contractual and the approved Site Specific Safety & Health Plan.
- Advise the Safety & Health Manager on WPC's Safety & Health performance, suitable improvement measures and issuance of Stop Work Order.
- Conduct daily inspection at work site, assist in resolving safety & health issues at site and produce report.
- Conduct audit and joint the walkabout with Clien, local authority and Works Pacakage Contractor.
- Respond immediately to site safety & health issues and ensure WPC take immediate actions.
- Provide recommendation and consultation to WPC on areas that require improvement.
- Monitor and verify the implementation of corrective and preventive actions for any nonconformities or incident and closely follow up on the rectification.
- Attend safety & health meetings.
- Conduct Safety & Health briefing, training and promote awareness.
- To liaise with local authority, client, independent consultant and Work Package Contractors to resolve any safety and health related matter.
- Assist in the review of Job Safety & Health Analysis and other related documents submitted by the WPC.
- Ensure timely reporting of incident and facilitate the incident investigation.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in Civil Engineering, OSH or equivalent
- Registered Safety & Health Officer with DOSH and possess a valid Green Book. Preferably NEBOSH certificate holder and OSH Management System Lead Auditor
- Minimum 5 years practical experience construction safety & health, preferably in railway/metro projects
- Good technical knowledge in safety and health
- Well versed with safety and health legislative requirements
- Good coaching, communication and presentation skills
- Able to communicate with all levels in the organization
- Well versed in working with Microsoft Office- Word, Power Point Good command of English and Bahasa Melayu languages (written and spoken)
- Self-motivated, can work independently with minimum supervision, excellent leadership and good problem solving skill
