Resident Evil: Retribution (Sept 2012)

Resident Evil: Retribution is scheduled to begin filming this October. Bloody Disgusting reports that Alice, our favorite zombie killer, will shoot on location in both Toronto and Japan. Milla Jovovich is not confirmed to reprise her role, but I doubt the film would be any good without her. Paul W.S. Anderson is currently working on a script, so he could likely direct.

Sienna Guillory (who plays Jill Valentine in the franchise) is the only cast member confirmed to return. There are not any plot details available to report at this time, but I am sure there will be tons of action and cool eye candy on screen. Sony Screen Gems is planning to release the film in theaters on September 14, 2012.

I liked the last film the best in the franchise aside from the first film. I am interested in seeing the film in theaters. Anderson did a good job with the 3D last time, it was one of the few films I have enjoyed in 3D. Are you looking forward to this film?

A fifth film in the franchise was confirmed, scheduled for release on September 14, 2012.[15] Jovovich has been confirmed and Guillory will reprise her role as Jill Valentine.[16] In an interview, Anderson expressed interest in including Leon Scott Kennedy in future films if Afterlife succeeded.[17] In a interview with Game Informer Milla Jovovich suggested that the fifth film would be titled Resident Evil: Retribution, but it has not been confirmed

Bloody Disgusting just broke the rather expected news that Milla Jovovich and Paul W.S. Anderson are diving back in to the world of RESIDENT EVIL. Anderson will direct, as usual, but this time he’s working from his own screenplay.

While these two are back for more, it looks like Sienna Guillory has been given the boot and will be replaced. No official word yet on who will play “Jill Valentine” but it does seem to come as a surprise since Guillory had previously tweeted that she’d be reprising her role.

Screen Gems have it set to hit theaters on September 14, 2012, which means they need to lock in the cast soon if they want to be ready to shoot in October. This pic will take Alice from Toronto, Canada to Tokyo, Japan which should provide an interesting back up for the zombie battles.

Given the box office success of the franchise, it should come as no surprise that they keep churning these out. And with the popularity of zombies only on the rise, this probably won’t be the last RESIDENT EVIL film
