Prabowo to reciprocate Belarusian President's state visit

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said he will make a return state visit to Belarus as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral ties following the launch of the Indonesia-Belarus Cooperation Roadmap 2026-2030.

"Of course, I will also make a return visit," Subianto said during a joint press statement with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko at the Merdeka Palace here in Jakarta on Thursday.

President Subianto appreciated Lukashenko's visit to Indonesia, noting that it marked the Belarusian president's second visit to the country.

He also recalled the warm welcome he received during his visit to Minsk last year and said the relationship between Indonesia and Belarus have continued to grow on the basis of mutual respect and mutual benefit.

During the meeting, the two leaders launched the Indonesia-Belarus Cooperation Roadmap 2026–2030 as a framework for advancing bilateral relationship over the next five years.

The roadmap covers enhanced cooperation in a range of strategic sectors, including modern agriculture, industry, trade, food security, science and technology, and human resource development.

Subianto added that Lukashenko's state visit to Indonesia marked an important milestone in strengthening the longstanding friendship between the two countries while opening broader opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

In a joint press statement at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, Subianto said the Belarusian president's visit was an honor for both the Indonesian government and its people.

"It is a great honor for the Republic of Indonesia, the Indonesian people, and for me personally to welcome Your Excellency on your second visit to Indonesia. More than 13 years ago, Your Excellency visited the Republic of Indonesia and now Your Excellency has returned to Indonesia," he noted.
