Cop found shot dead in apartment

KOTA KINABALU: A police detective is believed to have shot himself in the head at a friend’s apartment here.

L/Kpl Mohd Jasmin Mohd Bakri, 26, who was with the city’s crime prevention unit, died at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital here about three hours after he was found lying in a pool of blood in the apartment in Api Api at 1.30pm yesterday.

Kpl Jasmin, from Pahang, had a gunshot wound to the head in the incident and was sent to the hospital by ambulance.

His service revolver was recovered from the scene.

City police chief Asst Comm Ahmad Sofi Zakaria said the case has been classified as sudden death but police were investigating to see if it was suicide or accidental.

It is learned that the victim had gone to see a woman believed to be a foreigner in her 20s just before the incident.

Apapun sebabnya, bunuh diri adalah dilarang. Alfatihah
