UMNO NOT MY ENEMY, SAYS ANWAR

Bernama - Friday, August 8PETALING JAYA, Aug 7 (Bernama) -- Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim tonight said he never had any animosity towards Umno or hated the party and was open to working together with its leaders for Malay solidarity.

He said the interests of the Malays would always be safeguarded no matter what and that they would not be marginalised in any field.

"I will not budge one bit in this matter but at the same time, will not forsake the interests of the other communities," he said at a ceramah (political talk) here.

He also said his focus for now would be the Permatang Pauh by-election on Aug 26 and would be highlighting economic issues.

About 5,000 people attended the talk.
