The hotel reservation system consists of two parts: the front-end and back-end.
Front-end:
1. customer can search for hotels based on check-in and check-out date and geo information
2. a list of search results are shown on a page where customer can click on to view details.
3. on the details page, the customer can see the details of the hotel including description, available rooms and prices.
4. customer is then able to make a booking by clicking on the "book now" button.
5. If the customer's not registered he'll be taken to a registration form to fill out. If he's registered then he'll be requested to log in.
6. upon successful registration/login, a booking form is shown to customer to fill out his/her information including name, address and credit cardnumber.
7. after successful booking, the customer's booking details are emailed and faxed to the hotel. This info is also stored in the customer's account and hotel's account.
8. customer can log in and view the bookings he's made and "cancel booking" option is given.
9. If a customer chooses to cancel a reservation then there will be an email and a fax sent to the hotel and the hotel account and customer account are updated.
Back-end:
Hotels:
1. a hotel can register with its info, the registration request is to be enabled by the admin
2. after being enabled the hotel receives a username and password so it can log in and put in info for the room category, setting up the price and availability for every day.
3. when a customer views the details of a hotel, the hotel's geographic info's passed to the Google map and returned map's located next to the image of the hotel
4. a hotel can view a list of bookings made and update any info if necessary.
Admin:
1. view/change customers list
2. view/update booking list and fax/email bookings to hotels
3. view/update hotel list and enable if necessary
4. administration
5. web elements and general information update.
