Manpower Ministry transforms training centers into business incubators

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Manpower is transforming its vocational training centers (BLKs) into business incubators, productivity clinics, and talent hubs to better align with evolving job market demands.

“BLKs are no longer just training facilities; they are being developed into talent and innovation hubs, productivity clinics, and business incubators,” Manpower Minister Yassierli said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.

He explained that the transformation is part of his ministry’s strategic measures to optimize BLKs as training centers that are adaptive, inclusive, and relevant to both domestic and international industrial needs in 2026.

“The ministry's focus is to ensure that BLK graduates can be immediately absorbed into the workforce or start their own businesses,” he said.

Furthermore, the minister outlined Indonesia’s 2025–2029 manpower strategy, which focuses on strengthening the "link and match" between vocational training and industry, as well as optimizing BLKs.

Other priorities include protecting informal workers, providing decent and inclusive jobs, and strengthening manpower regulations, including those for digital platforms and occupational safety and health (OSH).

He noted that, to speed up the transformation, the BLK management is now directed towards a user journey approach to ensure jobseekers get accurate services, from the registration process to the job placements.

“The ministry is redesigning BLK service flows to focus more on the needs of job seekers. Training is no longer limited to classroom theory; it now prioritizes project-based learning and direct internships in industries,” he remarked.

Furthermore, BLKs will strengthen collaboration with the business and industrial sectors, universities, and communities to bolster the vocational training and human resource development ecosystems.

In their management, BLKs will utilize information technology and data to map labor market needs with greater precision, ensuring that training is well-targeted and making it easier to evaluate the training programs' impact.

"With the synergy of data, strong collaboration, and a proactive public relations approach, we believe BLKs will become drivers of excellent human capital towards the 2045 Golden Indonesia," he asserted.
