Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez celebrate their side’s 3-2 victory over Norwich City during the Premier League match at Carrow Road

SIMON MIGNOLET- 5
The Belgian had a poor game, after a recent run of good performances, and was badly at fault for Norwich’s first goal. The 26-year old didn’t look particularly composed on the ball, and his decision-making was a little erratic.

GLEN JOHNSON- 6
Johnson was solid throughout, doing plenty of good defensive work that some don’t believe he has in his armoury. He didn’t get forward much, but showed good quality on the ball.

MARTIN SKRTEL- 7
The Slovakian was one of Liverpool’s best players yet again, leading by example at the back. He won countless headers, made plenty of interceptions and stayed strong during Norwich’s late onslaught.

MAMADOU SAKHO- 6
The 24-year-old is not convincing on the ball at times, losing possession in dangerous areas and generally not exuding great composure. He was good in the air, but it wasn’t his greatest performance.

JON FLANAGAN- 7
Another mature display from the 21-year-old, who defended resolutely and got forward effectively from start to finish. He can be a little naive, but that’s to be expected at his age.

STEVEN GERRARD- 7
Less noticed than he has been in previous matches, but the skipper never put a foot wrong all afternoon. His passing was superb, while the defensive work he did was unnoticed but vital.

LUCAS- 6
The Brazilian played in a more advanced midfield role, but never looked entirely comfortable there. He was industrious as ever, but lacked quality in attacking areas. Needs to stop giving away needless fouls.

JOE ALLEN- 6
The 24-year-old made a very good start to the game, almost scoring and producing a crucial block to deny the hosts, and he was neat and tidy as always. He faded as the match it went on, however, and was replaced by Daniel Agger late on.

PHILIPPE COUTINHO- 6
The 21-year-old was quiet throughout. He certainly didn’t do anything wrong- his balance and ability on the ball was always eye-catching- but he lacked the brilliance he showed against Manchester City last weekend.

Luis Suarez celebrates scoring the second goal against Norwich City with team-mates Raheem Sterling and Philippe Coutinho during the Premier League match at Carrow Road.

RAHEEM STERLING- 8
The 19-year-old’s fantastic season continues, and he was Liverpool’s best player and match-winner on the day.

His superb strike opened the scoring, he provided the assist for Luis Suarez‘s goal and he got his second of the game with a deflected effort in the second-half. A constant threat.

LUIS SUAREZ- 7
Suarez hasn’t been in top gear of late, but he still played a big part in a huge win for the Reds.

His fine finish made it 2-0- his 30th league goal of a phenomenal season- and some of his touches and vision were sublime at times.

Subs

VICTOR MOSES (on for Coutinho ’76)- 6
The winger added pace to the team when he came on, and helped take the sting out of the Canaries’ play with some good counter-attacking.

DANIEL AGGER (on for Allen ’81)- 6
Came on to help nullify Norwich’s aerial threat, and did his job well.

Liverpool v Norwich: The Best Photos as Reds Extend Lead at Top
Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the English Premier League and now find themselves one step closer to winning the title after a fantastic 3-2 win at Norwich City. The Reds looked as if they were going to cruise to victory after Raheem Sterling and Luis Suarez gave the visitors a 2-0 lead, but Norwich fought back and got themselves right back in it through goals from Gary Hooper and Robert Snodgrass.

An upset wasn't on the cards, though, as Liverpool pressed on and got the winner through Sterling who had a deflected shot fall nicely over the keeper and into the back of the net.

Chelsea's loss to Sunderland at Stamford Bridge yesterday means the Liverpool are now in the driver's seat to win the league despite both the Reds and the Blues set to play next week.

Liverpool favourites to bring £20 million man to England

285Screenshot_2014-04-21-00-07-26-01.png

Liverpool are keen to bring in Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina.

The 25-year-old is expected to be in Colombia’s World Cup squad this summer and can even play at full-back when required. Cuadrado fits the mould of a Rodgers signing and could be available for as little as £12m, though he may want to acquire him before his stock rises after the World Cup. (TalkSport)

He would be a great buy

Title Favourites Liverpool Eye Up Transfer Targets
With Chelsea losing 2-1 to Sunderland on Saturday and Liverpool holding on to beat Norwich 3-2, the Reds are now firmly in pole position to pick up their first top-flight title since 1990.

This now leaves Liverpool in a strong situation for the summer transfer window as they look to add depth to their impressive starting side.

Having been without Jose Enrique for most of the campaign, Brendan Rodgers may be in the market for a left-back, with Borussia Dortmund's Marcel Schmelzer apparently top of the list. Jurgen Klopp's side reportedly want around £10 million for the 26-year-old Germany international, who is under contract until 2017, but that shouldn't prove too much of a stumbling block to Liverpool.

Liverpool are also reportedly in the market for forwards, despite having a host of attackers out on loan.Fabio Borini,Oussama Assaidi and Suso are all set to return this summer, but it appears that Liverpool are still searching for some more established finishers.French forward Antoine Griezmann, who plays for Real Sociedad,is one such player who could become available this summer. The Spanish side are expected to ask for about £20 million for their young winger, which puts Paris Saint-Germain in the driving seat for any potential deal.

Perhaps the biggest transfer deal for Liverpool this summer will be retaining star striker Luis Suarez amid advances from the game's financial superpowers.Real Madrid, having splashed £80 million on Gareth Bale last summer, are reportedly preparing a £90 million bid for the Premier League Player of the Year nominee. However, with the Premier League title Liverpool's to lose and the promise of Champions League football next year, you would think that retaining the Uruguayan will be an easier task this time around.
