A baby sloth bear wandered into the Indian village of Lakhpada one day, following the sheep and unsure of where to go. Instead of killing him, one family took the bear in, and a beautiful friendship was formed.
This is Budu, the 1.5-year-old bear adopted by the Kisan family in Lakhpada.
When everyone else wanted to kill the bear, the Kisans took him in and made him one of the family.
Though a little bit bigger than the other family pets, Budu fit in pretty well.
They gave him the name Budu because of his stubborn refusal to move when they asked him to, joking that he was in a medatitive state like a Buddha.
Budu was eventually returned to the wild by forest officials, but not before he got a glamorous makeover, and some serious snuggles.
What a lucky bear to have found such a loving family, and a what a lucky family for getting to hang out with such a cutie!
