Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Ministry of State Secretariat has opened public registration for 8,100 citizens to attend the nation's 81st Independence Day ceremony at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on August 17, 2026.

The registration is available online from August 5 to 7 via official website pandang.istanapresiden.go.id.

According to an announcement on the Ministry's official Instagram account on Wednesday, the portal opens at 10 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (GMT+7) and closes once the daily quota is reached.

During the registration process, prospective attendees must submit their National Identity Card (KTP) or Child Identity Card (KIA), active phone number, email address, and newest formal selfie photo holding their identification card.

Applicants must be Indonesian citizens, at least 12 years old by August 17, 2026, in a good health, and meet national vaccination requirements. Attendees are prohibited from bringing toddlers to the event.

Furthermore, each identity card number is strictly limited to a single registration.

After completing the application form and uploading the required documents, applicants must confirm their registration via a verification link sent to their email. Successful applicants can collect their physical invitations by presenting their identification cards.

In addition to the ceremonial flag-hoisting, invitees will have the opportunity to enjoy various Indonesian art and cultural performances.

Previously, the Deputy State Secretary Juri Ardiantoro confirmed the government's commitment to provide public with the opportunity to witness the historic commemoration firsthand at the palace.
