The Long Swim wins Best Environmental Cause Campaign award
It's with great pride that we announce that our very first Corporate Social Responsibility campaign has won a first place prize at PRWeek’s 2019 Campaign for Good Awards in the competitive ‘Best Environmental Cause Campaign’ category.
FXTM officially sponsored Lewis Pugh’s The Long Swim in 2018 as Lead Partner. As a world-renowned endurance swimmer, environmental campaigner and UN Patron of the Oceans, Lewis took on an incredible challenge to campaign for the expansion of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs).
The Long Swim was a two-month test of physical endurance. Lewis swam along the entire 530km length of the English Channel – from Cornwall to Dover. It was the first time this journey has been completed following Channel Association Rules (which means no wetsuit, just a pair of goggles and speedos). The campaign attracted daily media coverage and brought the issue of plastic pollution in the oceans to the attention of royalty and politicians, including UK Environment Secretary Michael Gove.
The results were fantastic. Following the Long Swim, there was a huge 20% increase in MPAs in South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands – an area Lewis repeatedly highlighted in his campaign. Just a few months ago, the UK government announced that 443,000 square kilometres around the Ascension Islands will also be protected. The PRWeek judge especially singled out the campaign’s impressive results and governmental influence for special praise.
FXTM is honoured to share this award with Lewis and all the teams that made it possible. We are working hard to invest more time and resources in other CSR campaigns around the world, so stay tuned for further updates!

Record high attendance at The Ultimate Trading Formula workshop in Taiwan!
The Ultimate Trading Formula travels the world, bringing FXTM Head of Education Andreas Thalassinos’ unique approach to the markets to eager traders of all experience levels. In July it was Taiwan’s turn to learn new technical analysis techniques from a free seminar and an advanced three-day workshop in Taipei, and a free seminar and one-day workshop in Kaohsiung. The turnout in Taipei was particularly impressive and broke all of our previous records in Taiwan – close to 300 people ensured the venue was packed!
The seminars on 14 and 20 July introduced attendees to the Ultimate Trading Formula, a system that helps traders pinpoint potential opportunities in the markets. Attendees were grateful to learn more about risk management and high-probability entry and exit points. The coffee breaks and the complimentary lunch gave our guests the chance to network in a relaxed environment.
The Taipei workshop ran over three evenings, from 16 to 18 July. Each session ended with a question and answer panel and a hands-on practice segment, allowing attendees to consolidate their new knowledge.
The Kaohsiung workshop on 21 July consolidated the highlights into one enlightening evening.
The workshops covered:
- Trend identification
- Protective stop loss
- Potential take profit
- Buy and sell target levels
- Finding possible entry setups
- Trend indicators and oscillators
We’d like to thank everyone who attended the sessions. It’s always a rewarding experience to get to know our traders. We’re looking forward to coming back to Taiwan in the near future.
