Following the topic of non-payments and delays in withdrawal of funds discussed in our recent forum post, these questions also require careful attention.The issue seems to be timely and sensitive. We have received a direct question on one of the forums: “Where does Forex.ee keep their Clients' money?” We will make sure to answer this question and try to do a little review of this financial aspect of the relationship between a trader and broker.


Account types brokers may use to keep their traders’ (Clients') money:
1. Broker’s settlement account – clients’ funds and company assets are not separated.
2. Client account where a broker is allowed to manage Clients' funds at its own discretion.
3. Client account with a total ban on the use of Clients' funds by the broker.

In the first case traders’ funds are the least protected. Moreover, from a legal point of view, in case of bankruptcy Clients will be in the most vulnerable positionas the ground for determining each Client's participation in company assets is, in fact, insufficient. In addition, a broker has plenty of opportunities for manipulating Clients' funds to get its own maximum benefit.

The second option – a client account where a broker is allowed to manage Clients' funds – may bring additional income to the trader. For example, a broker can make a short-term deposit or a HYIP investment for Saturday and Sunday in another bank. Such investments may bring dividends to the broker and additional profit to the trader, but the risk of losing funds cannot be excluded. It is worth noting that investing traders’ free capital is a legitimate broker’s right to which the Client has agreed by selecting the relevant check box in Customer Agreement.

We only choose the third option of storing funds at Forex.ee, i.e. Client accounts with a total ban on the use of Clients' funds by the broker.
