Prague : Three Czech companies have partnered to make a prototype of a flying bike. It uses an electric bicycle as its base. It actually got some lift and a safe landing at its five-minute demo flight in an exhibition hall in Prague.
The bike weighing in at 209 pounds, and boasts battery-powered propellers two in the front, a pair in the back, and one on each side.
A dummy saddled up for this flight, but according to a representative at Duchek, a bicycle-frame maker, higher capacity batteries would be required for an actual manned flight.
Well, powerful batteries are already available, but they’re so big and heavy, they’d probably keep the whole thing kissing the ground. Bummer. Well, at least it keeps Speedos from polluting our skies, so there’s that.
:-? Seems legit
