I have no interest whatsoever in shorting this market until we get below the 1.09 level, which at that point in time I think things would get rather ugly.
It’s too early to say whether the recovery will extend much further or petter out. If it does extend there is strong resistance from the an old channel line waiting at 1.1005.
We ended up forming a bit of a hammer. I think that this market will more than likely continue to consolidate between the 1.08 level and the 1.11 level above, with the 1.10 level essentially being “fair value.”
Current correction is taking place amid strong trading volume divergence. Further bearish development isn’t supported by the volumes, although there haven’t been any signs of reversal up yet. The closest correction target is situated at 1.1040 support. The test of this level will be most likely followed by the rebound up towards 1.1085, 1.1130.
If we close well above the 1.12 level, we would be buyers and aiming for the 1.14 handle as it should continue to show bullishness. If we do pullback though, we anticipate that the 1.10 level will be too supportive to break down below.
The EUR/USD pair initially fell during the course of the week but found enough support at the 1.10 level to turn things back around and form an extremely positive candle. With this, we are testing the 1.14 handle. This is the beginning of major resistance that could change the entire trend of this currency pair. If we can break above the 1.15 level, we not only are buyers at that point in time, but we are essentially in a “buy-and-hold” type of situation in our opinion.
The currency pair found support near the 20-day moving average at 1.1140. Resistance is seen near the recent highs at 1.17. Momentum remains positive by the trajectory of the MACD is negative and poised to generate a sell signal.
