To All GridWeaver Users,
I have been working on a major update to the GridWeaver EA and in light of the current run-up of the EUR/GBP, have decided to get it to you today, instead of waiting until the weekend. This new version has several additional settings and enhancements:
1. The old SwitchOver setting has now been split out to two settings: ForwardEnd and ReverseStart. These settings determine where the forward (buy) orders stop and the Reverse (sell) orders begin. They no longer are set to the same grid instance, so there is an overlap of several ranges where buying and selling is taking place on the same instance of the grid. Please leave them at the default settings for now.
2. AutoCalcOffset : This setting determines the number of ranges for of overlap of buying and selling when the center point is automatically recalculated. This is defaulted to 8, and it is recommended that you stay with that for now. That 8 is an offset for each side, from the newly calculated center point.
3. CenterRevisitLevel: This new setting sets the equity percentage level where the crossover point is revisited and recalculated to coincide with the current trading range. The default is 101, which means that it essentially is always on. The LookBackDays is now defaulted to 2, which means that the robot looks back and finds the center of trading over the past 2 days, and uses that to calculate a new center point.
4. CloseOldOpenOrders: In order to reduce draw down from old out-of-range orders, this new setting, which is defaulted to true, tells the EA to close old orders once they become X days old. X is defined in the next new setting. This is an important setting and it is recommended that you leave this set to true.
5. OldOrderOpenDays: This sets the number of days old that an order must be before it is closed by the CloseOldOpenOrders setting. It is defaulted to 30, and it is recommended that you leave it at that setting for now.
Please note that my web host provider, Kiosk, is in the midst of moving from Canada to Texas. They have obviously run into some kind of snag, and so the forex-goldmine web site is down and my e-mail is also down until they get things back up and running again. I suspect that there are some DNS propagation issues going on, but regardless, there is nothing that I can do about it for now. Be assured that I haven't gone anywhere, and hopefully the web site and e-mail will be back up soon. In the meanwhile, I cannot receive any e-mails at my forex-goldmine addresses, and can only send e-mail using a different SMTP server that I have access to.
I am hopeful that all of you have been conservative in your lot sizes, so that you are weathering this upswing in the EUR/GBP. This new version of the GridWeaver should help greatly over time. Because of the nature of the settings and the system, at times there will be orders closed at a loss. It is not like the RoboMiner in that respect, but over time, I think you will see some nice profits from this robot, as many of you have already seen.
