New pay TV service to start soon


PUTRAJAYA: New pay TV outfit Asian Broadcasting Network (M) Sdn Bhd (ABN) is expected to start rolling out its services by the end of this month, starting with the Klang Valley, Penang and Johor Baru.

Its president and chief executive officer Sreedhar Subramaniam said it is now in the midst of doing the cabling and testing, and is confident of delivering on schedule.

“This is a wired network using new technology ... we are conservatively looking at reaching 1,000 households by the end of June,” he said at a hotel here yesterday.

Sreedhar, a media industry veteran who previously helmed free-to-air station ntv7 and online news portal The Malaysian Insider, said they chose to launch in the three urban centres due to the infrastructure already available.

The network, which promises over 100 channels comprising local and international content, will later be rolled out nationwide in stages over the next decade via RM2bil worth of aerial cabling.

It was previously reported that ABN planned to offer its services at a lower price which the digital cable television network claimed is possible due to its cable platform.

Sreedhar said ABN is actively engaging local production houses, studios and students to enable more local content.

utk pengetahuan tuan, anak saya tgk siaran lain, dan saya cuba tgk siaran lain. Adakah disebabkan ini?

DM800HD hanya ada 1 tuner, jadi kita tak boleh menonton 2 siaran berlainan dalam satu masa.
