Arsenal Arsenal Transfer Rumors

AC Milan chase Arsenal keeper Mannone
December 27, 2009

AC Milan are interested in taking Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone back to Italy in the January transfer window, according to The People.

The San Siro giants see him as the ideal successor to their Brazilian number one Dida, who is 36 and on his way out of the San Siro in the summer.

21 year-old Mannone was snatched by Arsenal from Atalanta in 2005 before he had signed a professional deal and as a result the Gunners paid £350,000 compensation.

The Italian Under-21 international signed a long-term contract at Arsenal in 2007.Following an uneventful loan spell at Barnsley in 2006/7 where he made two first team appearances Mannone has this season clocked up five Premiership appearances, and a further four in the Champions League.

But since then Mannone has grown increasingly frustrated at his lack of first team opportunities, finding himself behind Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski in the Arsenal pecking order.

Arsenal are ready to make a bid for Andre Pierre-Gignac

Arsene Wenger is ready to spend some of his transfer war chest on Toulouse striker Andre Pierre-Gignac.

The Arsenal boss has admitted that the Gunners need to sign a striker in the January transfer window, and Gignac has emerged as the number one target at the Emirates after speculation linked the north London clubs with a handful of strikers.

Wenger is reported to have £35 million at his disposal in the New Year, and injuries have forced the Frenchman's hand into making additions.

Gignac broke onto the scene in Ligue 1 in France last season, scoring 24 goals in 38 games for Toulouse and shining after the exit of Johan Elmander when he moved to Bolton.

The 24-year-old forward would provide Arsenal with a physical presence that is currently lacking, with the 6ft 1in striker more than equipped in the air as well as on the ground.

His impressive form has led to international recognition, with four goals in ten appearances so far for Les Bleus ahead of a World Cup summer.

The News of the World reports that the Gunners are ready to strike, and Wenger will need to pay somewhere in the region of £18 million to secure the talented striker's services.

Wenger linked with Italian swoop

Arsenal, 07:08, November 23, 2009

Arsenal are showing an interest in the highly-rated Sampdoria striker Giampaolo Pazzini, according to reports in Italy.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger wants to bring a new striker to the Emirates Stadium in the January window and is ready to turn to Pazzini who is valued in the region of £16million.

The 25-year-old has been in fine form this season as Sampdoria have mounted a challenge for the top four in Serie A and the Gunners are one of a number of clubs to show an interest.

Chelsea are also said to be keen after the club's transfer ban was suspended and it looks as though a battle could be on the cards for Pazzini's services.

Wenger: ‘I may look for midfielders too’

~ by Randy Osae on December 27, 2009.

Arsene Wenger may be on the quest for more than a striker next month.

The French tactician did not rule out the chance of recruiting a frontman after the win over Aston Villa and with his options continuously shortened by injuries, Wenger revealed he may strengthen depth in other areas of the squad.

The Arsenal boss has further hinted on his transfer plans by admitting he will shop for a midfielder should Fabregas and Denilson’s injuries from Sunday be anything severe.

“I’ve said we will keep our eyes open and if a good opportunity turns up we will do it. But at the moment I haven’t got any.” Wenger said.

“I will have to look maybe as well at midfielders and how big the damage is. If we lose Denilson and Fabregas we will be short there. I don’t know yet.”

Adakah Edin Hazard atau Rafael Van de Vaart?:D

Aku prefer eden tu.. :)paid

Wenger targets hitman

Arsenal, 12:27, December 28, 2009

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed he will attempt to sign a striker in January and is hopeful over Cesc Fabregas' fitness.

The Gunners lost key frontman Robin Van Persie earlier in the campaign and initially the Frenchman was coy over whether he would seek for a replacement for the crocked Dutchman.

However, Wenger has now confirmed he is in the market for a new striker, with the likes of Bordeaux hitman Marouane Chamakh and Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko linked with a switch to the Emirates.

He said: "We are in the market with our eyes open. We are a bit short as we planned to play with Robin the whole season."

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas put in a terrific display against Aston Villa on Sunday, the Spaniard played just 28 minutes but scored two crucial goals as the Gunners ran out 3-0 winners. However, Fabregas suffered a recurrence of a hamstring injury but Wenger revealed he is hopeful the talented playmaker will not be on the sidelines for too long.

" I don't believe it's too bad, he doesn't think it's too bad," said Wenger of Fabregas' injury. "If it's a pull again it's three weeks (out), so we hope it is only a scar."

Arsenal transfer rumours Dec 27th – Gignac, Bellamy and Chamakh (again!)
Posted on December 27, 2009 by admin

The Sunday papers are full of Arsenal transfer news this morning, and the surprise new entry to Wenger’s most-wanted list is Marouane Chamakh again, despite Bordeaux saying he isn’t for sale.

The player himself has also said “I am leaving in the summer, and don’t want my name bandied about in January”, and even Arsene Wenger has said that Chamakh is not possible!

But that doesn’t stop todays Mail making the Morrocan striker Wengers top target!

I think we can safely discount that one as an unlikely possibility.

The Frenchman Andre-Pierre Gignac again features heavily as a likely target, and i am inclined to believe that this one is a lively possibility.

Gignac is having another good season at Toulouse, but with the club struggling near the bottom of Ligue 1, the big French international has made no secret of his wish to leave in January.

The News of the World quotes a “source” as saying: “”He’s been happy at Toulouse but knows this is the time to leave and the prospect of Champions League football is too good to resist.”

The only question would be the price, but surely even Wenger would be able to scrape together £15m out of his pocket for such a talented hitman?

The last one today is another unlikely one as far as I am concerned. The Man City striker Craig Bellamy was a particular favourite of Mark Hughes, but with Mancini now in charge at the Eastlands, he may not get the same amount of chances now, and he was left on the bench yeaterday in the 2-0 win over Stoke City.

This has led the Mirror to link the 30-year-old as the perfect answer to Wenger’s striking problems. He is certainly big and aggressive, but he may be a bit too old, and more likely to disrupt the Arsenal dressing room at the Emirates. And he couldn’t really be considered an “investment”.

I don’t think that this one is going anywhere, despite the Mirror quoting an “ex-coach” of Bellamy’s saying: “Craig’s a warrior, just what Arsenal need,”

That move is even more unlikely than Chamakh!

Arsenal rumours Dec 28th – Lansbury, Scott Loach and Eden Hazard
Posted on December 28, 2009 by admin

After Arsenal’s win over Aston Villa yesterday, the papers are full of the scintillating peformance by Cesc Fabregas and his subsequent injury, but there are still enough Arsenal transfer rumours to warrant a post.

In fact there is not much good news for Gunners fans, as two of Wengers supposed targets have indicated they would prefer to NOT move to the Emirates.

The young England U21 keeper Scott Loach says that he would rather remain at Watford and get guaranteed first team football, and then move to the Premiership later in his career.

He said: “If I can play another 60-100 games here and then move on then I’ll be in a much better position.

“Even if I was 24-25, I don’t think I’d automatically get into Premier League sides. I’m confident I can go somewhere and break in somewhere, but it’s all about games and I just want to keep learning and do something like Ben Foster .

“I’m in the Under-21s now, it’s great to work with Stuart Pearce and see and learn from the keepers in front of me, but I’ve got a long way to go yet.

“But I’ll just work hard and I’m confident I’ll get to the top in the end.”

“When I see myself in the newspapers it brings a smile to my face as the Premier League is where I want to be. It’s an honour to be linked with those clubs and, if that happens, then brilliant but it would also be brilliant staying here.”

Loach is currently playing alongside the Arsenal youngster Henri Lansbury at Watford, but his loan period finishes next week and he should be returning to Arsenal. Hornets boss Malky Mackay is hopeful that Wenger will let Lansbury remain at Vicarage Road until the end of the season.

Mackay said: “We have a good relationship with Arsenal and we are discussing it with them.

“We are hoping that once Arsenal and Henri’s situation finishes then he comes back for the second half of the season.

“I think he enjoys being here and his game has improved since he has been here. He has had a taste of Championship football and is enjoying it so it is an environment where he wants to be in and we want him here as well.”

I am sure Wenger will be amenable to a further loan period after talking to the youngster, but could he be so devious as to try and work Loach into the conversation?

The last rumour concerns the talented Liile teenager Eden Hazard, and it seems that the 18 year-old midfielder would prefer to move to Real Madrid, who also have designs on him.

Wenger has been known to be a long-time admirer of the Belgian international, and it was expected that he would move to the Emirates one day, but, having said that, the report was in the Daily Mail, and might be total rubbish!
