Winaero Tweaker is an an all-in-one customization utility that helps you to tweak Windows in just a few simple clicks. The program includes tweaks for every version of operating system from Windows 7 to Windows 11. Winaero Tweaker automatically detects the version of Windows OS you’re running and shows tweaks and customization options accordingly. The software can be installed as a portable app so you can take it with you as you move from one computer to another.​

Winaero Tweaker 16.4 Key Changes

This release focuses on usability, HiDPI support, and removing broken or outdated tweaks, while maintaining compatibility with recent Windows 11 updates.

New Features​

• Disable Recommended in Start: Users can now turn off the Recommended section in the Windows 11 Start menu.​
• Remove “Ask Copilot”: Added an option to remove the Ask Copilot context menu via Context Menu > Remove Default Entries.​
• Custom Drive Icons: Users can set custom icons for any drive letter and define a new default icon for hard drives.​
• Dark Theme Support: Winaero Tweaker now supports dark mode on Windows 10/11 and selectable themes on Windows 7/8.​
• Font & Icon Scaling: Fixed font scaling for HiDPI screens and added a manual font size option; left-panel icons now appear crisp.​

Fixes & Improvements​

• Correct reporting and functionality for Disable Defender, Disable Copilot, and Tamper Protection toggles.​
• Resolved multiple registry-related and UI bugs, including Inactive Titlebar Color, Disable Lock Screen, and XMouse options.​
• Updated File Explorer tweaks: hiding Home folder, disabling Ribbon, and fixing desktop context menu options (Copilot, Snipping Tool, Settings).​
• Removed obsolete tweaks that no longer work on Windows 11 24H2/25H2, including Cortana-related options.​

Known Issues / Upcoming Changes​

• Some toolbar and info page icons still appear blurry.​
• “Disable Windows Update” page will soon allow method selection.​
• Classic taskbar customization is largely unsupported in Windows 11 25H2+, pending possible future fixes.​
