This is a trading strategy for those who do not have the time to trade on a daily basis. A position trader enters the market and hold his position for a very long time.

A position trader uses the daily and weekly charts for proper analysis. The profit margin is higher with this kind of strategy.

If you want to be a position trader, here are things to consider:

You need a firm understanding of fundamentals driving the market
You need Need a larger capital base because your stop loss is wide

Do you want to be a position trader? Ask any question to know more.

I was investigating position trading, but it requires substantial knowledge regarding technical and fundamental analysis. It might be a good option for experienced traders. I wasn’t quite sure on which indicators would be best to rely on when defining entry and exit levels?

Position Trading is simply using a long term buy and hold strategy. You can also become a position investor and trader and keep positions for a long term time horizon.

I like position trading. It is true that it requires solid knowledge of both fundamental and technical analysis, but it pays off as profits are much higher from short term trading. I also don’t enter into position until I see a clear trend based on technical analysis of longer historical time frame

You are an independent thinker. You have to be able to ignore popular opinion and make your own educated guesses as to where the market is going.

I trade long-term sometimes. No huge capital is required for this. On the contrary, you can work during the day and not depend on trading. Spread ceases to play an important role. But the role of the swap is increasing. It is difficult to trade with a large swap.

Position trading is a good fit for traders, who are experienced enough and they don’t want to be bothered anymore or for those who do not want to go deep into strategies and learn how to trade. It is always risky as you rely on the system, which can lead you to lose. If you go this way you need to make a proper analysis of your weekly charts.

Position trading can be confusing if you do not have enough experience in the trade to help you effectively handle technical and fundamental analysis. To become a successful position trader, you need more capital because your stop loss is also wide.

I also think that position trading is for experienced traders. Substantial knowledge is necessary in order to play the market this way, not only regarding technical analysis but also fundamentals. There might be a lot of volatility between entry and exit levels, so strong mind set is also required
