Technical analysis or fundamental analysis?

Fundamental analysis is most often used when determining the quality of long-term investments in a wide array of securities and markets, while technical analysis is used more in the review of short-term investment decisions such as active trading of stocks.

When we are looking to do our trading on a Long Term Time Frames then we must be making use of the Fundamental Analysis in our trading. In this way we would be in a better position to Enter and Exit the markets.

I agree! Combining both technical and fundamental analysis can provide a well-rounded perspective. Technical analysis helps identify patterns and trends based on historical data, while fundamental analysis offers insights into economic indicators and intrinsic values. This synergy allows for more informed decision-making, helping to navigate market volatility and enhance overall trading strategies.

I also use a combination of technical and fundamental analysis in my decision-making. Technical analysis helps identify market trends through past and present data, while fundamental analysis provides insights into the real value of currencies. This holistic approach enables me to make more rational and informed trading decisions.

To apply or not to apply fundamental analysis, you need to understand how you trade. And if, for example, trading is carried out by scalping, then it is more important to have technical analysis, and if you are a swing trader or conduct positional trading, then in addition to technical analysis, you must also know fundamental analysis in order to especially hold your open positions in the direction of the general trend.

I agree with your approach! Combining both technical and fundamental analysis offers a comprehensive view. Technical analysis helps forecast market movements based on historical data, while fundamental analysis provides insights into a currency’s true value, enhancing overall decision-making.

It is also important to always control the time of publication of important fundamental news from the economic calendar, which at a given time can create strong and sharp volatility in the market and break the readings of any indicators or strategies.

Technical analysis if for short-term trades while fundamental analysis is best to forecast long-term price directions and hence most suitable for swing trades. At least this is how I view the biggest difference between these two approaches to analyze markets.

Makes sense. TA for timing, FA for the bigger picture.

I think it is also important for swing traders to have a good understanding of technical analysis, because in addition to being able to correctly identify the general trend through fundamental analysis, it is also important to be able to find more accurate and profitable entry points into the market, as well as exit it in a timely manner, using technical analysis for this.
