Position Title:
Manager, Refinery Planning & Economics

Function/Department:

Primary Functions/Responsibilities:
• Economic evaluation of crude oil and feedstocks for optimal selection and purchase for refinery (oversee)
• Preparation of optimized processing plan for refinery (oversee)
• Ensure adequate product allocations (oversee)
• Capital project evaluation and development
• Maintain and monitor key metrics in support of continuous improvements
• Crude /product inventory management (oversee)
• Short term economic studies for refinery optimization
- feedstock mixes
- cut-points
- product mixes/opportunities
- new processing schemes
- shutdown evaluation/decisions
- catalyst change-outs
• Assist in development of yearly business plan and long range plan
• Monitor and request updates for LP vectors in planning tools
• Linear Program health monitoring
• End month inventory and apportionment review/audit
• Respond to changes in operation due to refinery upset
• Product specification impact
• OPSC and ORB representative
• Ensure refinery plan is within safe operating limits and meets environmental requirements.
• Oversee professional development for staff and provide HSE guidance and information.
• Provide HSE induction to any new direct report which include explanation on HSE Policy and incident reporting



Job Specifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
• 8 –12 years experience
• Understanding of refinery operations and economics
• Knowledge of LP, apportionment and HCAMS
