Minggu Emas Bermula

Emas menunjukkan daya tahannya pada hari Isnin. Harga logam kuning memulakan minggu dagangan dengan peningkatan.

Niaga hadapan emas untuk penghantaran Februari didagangkan pada 1,203.37 dolar satu auns troy pada bahagian Comex NYMEX. Penganalisis yakin bahawa emas akan terus meningkat dalam jangka masa panjang.

Emas telah mengukuh setelah dolar AS melemah berlatar belakangkan ketidaktentuan politik di Amerika Syarikat. Keadaan tidak jelas akan menjejaskan prospek kadar dana Rizab Persekutuan. Tiga kenaikan kadar utama Fed yang dijanjikan menimbulkan keraguan di kalangan peserta pasaran.

Pada Disember 2016, Fed menaikkan kadar asas dan berkata bahawa kadar akan menyaksikan tiga lagi kenaikan pada tahun 2017. Walau bagaimanapun, keraguan menguasai. Peserta pasaran percaya bahawa tiga kes pengetatan kewangan adalah terlalu banyak dan menjangkakan dua kenaikan paling banyak.

Britain Akan Meninggalkan Pasaran Tunggal

Britain akan meninggalkan pasaran Eropah tunggal, dinyatakan oleh Perdana Menteri Britain, Theresa May dalam ucapan beliau pada hari Selasa. Yang menghairankan, peniaga menerima berita dengan positif dan berpusu-pusu ke pound British.

Pasaran Menanti Ucapan Yellen

Pada hari Rabu, pasaran mata wang menunggu dengan penuh debaran ucapan pengerusi Fed Janet Yellen. Peniaga dolar AS tertumpu pada komen-komen berkenaan dasar monetari Rizab Persekutuan. Namun, pasangan euro-dolar tidak tergesa-gesa membuat peningkatan menjelang kenyataan tersebut.

Pada akhir hari dagangan, mata wang Eropah tunggal bermula dari tahap tertinggi harian di atas paras 1.0700 untuk didagangkan di tahap 1.0668 berbanding dolar AS.

Semalam, zon euro mengeluarkan data inflasi yang mencerminkan pemulihan ekonomi yang beransur-ansur. Bagaimanapun, peniaga memberikan segala perhatian kepada ucapan Yellen.

Harga pengguna di rantau ini meningkat 1.1 peratus pada Disember dari segi tahunan. Inflasi meningkat daripada kadar 0.6 peratus sebelum ini dan mencapai tahap tertinggi sejak September 2013. BlackRock reports record new cash in 2016

In 2016, the world’s largest asset manager BlackRock logged record new cash. The company’s total asset under management rose by 11% to $5.14 trillion thanks to the net inflow of $202 billion. The net profit of BlackRock dropped by 5% to $3.17 billion, and revenues declined by 2% to $11.16. In the fourth quarter of 2016, the company’s profit fell by 1% to $851 million, while revenue grew by 1% to $2.89 billion. Net inflows in the last three months of 2016 amounted to $98 billion. BlackRock said that it would increase its quarterly cash dividend to $2.50 a share, a 9% increase, and would buy back additional 6 million shares within its current program. In 2016, the company returned $2.7 billion to shareholders. Last week BlackRock shares closed up by 0.5%. Throughout 2016, the shares added 12%.

Venezuela to make new proposal to boost oil prices

President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro stated that the country “will circulate a letter with a new proposal” for crude-producing countries in order to support oil prices. On November 30, 2016 OPEC reached an agreement to curb crude production by 1.2 million barrels a day to 32.5 billion barrels a day in the first half of 2017. OPEC non-member countries, such as Russia, Oman, and Mexico, also agreed to trim output by 558,000 barrels a day. Maduro reiterated that leaders of the OPEC member states are to hold a meeting in the first quarter of 2017 in Qatar. The crude market strategy will be discussed and developed during the summit. Crude production in Venezuela makes up over 90 percent of the country’s exports revenues. That it is why the country, which is currently suffering from recession, presses for higher oil prices.

Gold could fall below $1,000 an ounce

Weighed down by the strong dollar and Fed’s rate hikes, gold price could fall below $1,000 a troy ounce through 2017, analysts at BNP Paribas and Rising Glory Finance said. However, experts at BNP Paribas believe that although the gold price would fall below this level, it would still continue an uptrend. The last time the gold price was below $1,000 an ounce was in October 2009. According to Harry Tchilinguirian, head of commodities strategy at BNP Paribas SA in London, the Fed’s tightening monetary policy course contradicts the government’s plans to soften fiscal policy. Higher borrowing costs will boost the dollar and will affect the gold price. The Fed said it plans three rate hikes in 2017, while US President-elect Donald Trump intends to cut taxes and increase public spending. Currently, gold trades at $1,200 a troy ounce, up 0.4% from the previous day’s close level. In December 2015, the gold price hit $1,123 an ounce.
