Programming Language - both for mobile and web and other application

I want to know learn a programming language which can be used to develop Mobile applications, web applications and other types of applications. I already know the very basics in Java. Which will be your preference for such a language and its unique feature? If it is not, at least a language powerful enough to provide basics in these areas.

well if you know a bit on Java why not start with Android platform

if you want to develop cross platform apps, master c++ and use QT sdk
