Update From PayBox.me

The PayBox blog is finally live. Hooray!

This blog will be the primary channel PayBox uses to keep you up-to-date with news and information about our developing service. Please come back frequently to stay informed.

This is exciting news for me and hopefully for you as well. Hi there, I’m Scott. I’ll be the blog post guy for a while here at PayBox.

So, I’ll just start right off with the first announcement:

The Email Newsletter will be Ending Soon

That’s right. Over the next 7 days (or so), we’ll be transitioning away from the email newsletter. The good news is that we’ve been listening to your feedback and agree that a blog will work better for everyone.

For those of you who still want to receive email, don’t worry, you’ll be able to subscribe to our blog by email. But, in addition to email, the blog format opens up more ways our users can “subscribe” to get notified when we post new information.

Soon, you’ll be able to subscribe to our blog using whatever method you normally use to stay connected to the world, whether it’s email, news reader, feed reader, aggregator, web portal, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Answers

Now that we have the blog online, I will post regular updates as frequently as information becomes available. People have had questions (understandably) and I will be addressing those questions in the coming days. I will do my best to cover the questions of the highest apparent priority first…the questions that seem to come up the most in emails.

There have been a lot of questions but they seem to hit on a few main topics. I will cover those topics in upcoming blog posts. I apologize if we haven’t answered your emails personally. We simply don’t have the manpower to answer every email personally at this point.

PayBox is in very early development and we don’t have a full-time dedicated support staff yet. We are focusing more on planning, development, programming, etc. We are listening to your feedback and we are working to put in place a communication system that will support our large (and growing) EarlyBird user base.
New Features

We appreciate your efforts. Thanks for all you’ve done so far. We look forward to your support and help in testing an exciting new feature–hopefully by early October. Now, I can’t reveal exactly what it is yet, except that this feature will give you some ability to use your account balance. As we continue to grow, add new features, and integrate with more networks your account balance will become usable in more and more ways.

Update From PayBoox.me
Our migration from the email newsletter to the PayBox blog has officially started.

We’re asking all users to switch over to a blog subscription (and cancel your old newsletter subscription). We plan to end the old email newsletter completely by the end of this week.

So what’s the difference?

The new blog subscription will notify you every time we post a new blog entry. It’s very important that all EarlyBird users stay subscribed to the blog. The blog is now our primary channel for communicating with our users.

There are several ways to subscribe to the blog…

* Email
(this will go to your inbox, just like the old newsletter did)
* Add to your Google homepage (iGoogle)
* Add to My Yahoo!
* Use a news reader, aggregator, etc.
* and more…

So, if you joined PayBox before mid-day on 2oth of September, 2010, please subscribe to the blog now.

If you were subscribed to the old email newsletter, then after subscribing to the blog, please do the following…

1. Log into your email.
2. Pull up one of the old email newsletters.
3. Find and click the unsubscribe link.
4. Click the radio button to unsubscribe.

Looking Forward

The transition to blog subscription is a big piece of our communications system that will really help us move forward. We will also soon be setting up a forum for users. We hope to have the forum ready for testing this week. Once the forum is fully operational, we will begin developing new features and having the EarlyBird users test them.

We have more blog posts coming soon. We have a lot of information to share and we’re excited to begin testing and development of the upcoming features for user accounts. Please make sure you are subscribed to be notified of all new blog posts.

We’re just getting started.

Update From PayBoox.me

I’ve got some great news to share with you.
P2P Transactions Launching Soon…

The development team has been working around the clock for days now on the new Person-to-Person (P2P) transaction system. They’ve suprised us by announcing that it should be ready to begin EarlyBird user testing within a few days.

This is great news. It means that all PayBox users will soon be able to send and receive payments between one another. Once it’s working, it also means from that point forward, every change to your account balance will pass through the new transaction system…

* Every daily bonus you earn
* Every referral bonus you earn
* Every time you send money
* Every time you get paid

Everything will be tracked in your account history. It’s really exciting. The developers showed me a sneak-peek of the system and it looks fantastic. I can’t wait to begin using it myself.

But it get’s even better. Once the P2P transaction system has gone through some EarlyBird user testing and proven itself a bit, the developers will begin rolling out some new features that I think everyone’s going to really get excited about.
The Forum

Based on user feedback, we have pushed back the launch of the forum a little bit in order to quickly develop some usable account features. Don’t worry, the forum is still coming, but the developers have been told to focus on launching P2P transactions first.

Also, we will still need to get our forum mods selected first. We are still working on an application process for that. The forum may not launch for another 1-3 weeks, depending on how things work out with EarlyBird user testing of the P2P transaction system.
Are You Ready?

I hope you’re ready to begin helping us test the new transaction system. I expect to be making a launch announcement within a few short days.

Update From PayBox.me

It’s really happened!

The very first version of the Person-to-Person (P2P) transactions are now live in your account. You’ll just need to log in to PayBox (if you’re not already). Once you’re logged in, you’ll probably notice that there is now a menu system at the top with links labeled: My Account, Send Money, History and My Referrals.

Here’s a screen capture…

You can now begin testing the new features that have gone live. Go ahead and poke around, see what’s new and find out how it all works.

But, there are a few important points to keep in mind before using the new tools:

1. No previous transactions will be imported to the new system. Every change to your balance from here forward is being tracked. Each time you send a payment, get paid, get a bonus, etc. It will all show up in your History tab starting now. But, nothing that happened before this system went live will be put into History.
2. We do not have support people on staff yet who can fix your balance if there are problems. You may want to stick to smaller transactions while you’re testing. Once we’re a little more sure that things are stable, then, go ahead and use it without worry.
3. Contact our developers only if you find problems: [[email protected]]. They are very busy at this point, please only contact them if you are reporting a problem. (We’ll have a better system for reporting errors soon.) The email above is the general address to report errors to our development staff. Remember, send only errors to the developers. If something goes wrong with sending or receiving a payment, let them know, but they cannot change or fix your balance. Their job is simply to get the website working if there are problems.

Important: If you contact the developers, be sure to let them know the name of your web browser (i.e. Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer), and the version of your browser, which is usually found by clicking ‘Help’ then ‘About’ in the menu at the top of your web browser.

I will be back with a new blog post, and hopefully some results of our early testing tomorrow. Until then, log in and have a look around your account. Then, take a little time and test out the new features with a friend or someone else who has an account.

Update From PayBox.me

I’ve got some great news…
at least if you like earning money,
spending money or having fun while you do either of the above.

The EarlyBird testing has been going well this week.
Our developers will be finishing up fixes on most of the reported issues very soon.
We’re excited to announce that some great new features are coming…possibly by the end of next week.
I can’t promise everything will be ready by then, but that is what the developers are aiming for.

These new features will make a lot of people happy. We have users who want to use their balance (spend money).
We have users who want to grow their balance (earn money). We have users who want to do both.
The next set of features we release will bring a lot of new ways to both spend and earn money.

This will be my last blog post this week. Be sure to stay updated as things progress next week.
I’ll keep you updated on the development of the new features and let you know as soon as they are ready to use.
