Olymp Trade

Haha, I’m not that new to markets to risk more than I can afford. BTW speaking of Olymp, I found out that here you can set a stop loss using the amount of money you are willing to risk. I find it very convenient in comparison to quote-based stop loss.

I dunno, on the one hand value-based stop loss is convenient, but it can get very irrelevant to the real situation on the market. I’d rather have stops and takes placed at certain points on the chart. Above/below major swings looks like the most approved by professionals approach. At least this is what I often see as suggested strategy when I watch webinars.

I don’t care much about what experts say. If they say something obvious, this means that everyone knows it already and you must do the opposite from what the crowd does to make profits. Anyway, you can combine these features of Olymp. First you can place value-based stop and you will know for sure you are not risking more that desired amount in a trade. Then, if you’d like, you can easily move stop line by simply dragging it on the screen to match the exact point on the chart.

Good point! I’ve seen those lines on the screen but for some reason but didn’t try dragging them around the chart. Thanks for sharing the hint!

Completely disagree about the opinion on expert’s advices. I understand what you’ve meant by saying you mustn’t follow the crowd. But if you watch how things really work on the market, you will inevitably notice that charts repeat themselves, which gives experts the right to claim certain probabilities are worth using. This doesn’t mean they will work 100%, but this is how it works most of the time. Small players think it’s too obvious to be true and smart money think that they will keep using the method until it works, teasing small fish from time to time with false breakouts.

Hmm, ok. I might go back to theory and possibly overlook my beliefs, going over some Olymp’s experts webinars again.

Hello everyone! Wanted to register an account at Olymp Trade, but I see that these guys offer registration with two different options: for MT4 and a regular one. Looks like there are a few Olymp’s customers here, please advise which account type is preferrable?

I trade options, so for me there is no choice really. Options trading is available at regular account only. Not that I wanted to start using MetaTrader anyway.

Well, this is a little disappointing. I was planning to try both options trading and forex, this was actually why I got interested in Olymp - as far as I understand they offer both for the same account. I don’t have enough savings for two separate deposits.

You know I used to trade options only, but the more I trade, the more I see the potential in forex trading. With Olymp MT4 account you will get access to more forex assets and to all the features of MT4 (I wouldn’t underestimate the power of custom indicators). Here you will also be able to choose with spreads and no commissions or vice versa.
The power of regular Olymp Trade platform is that it’s very user-friendly. If you are new to markets you’d definitely want to try this one first. It aint got that many assets, but the ones that are there are liquid and are the most wanted ones. Indicators are there too. You know about options trading specifics already.
