soooo... normally, how much time do you spend in a week on this kind of work...
other than translating, would you recommend other areas such as data entry? what about payment... do you use paypal, credit card or just the local bank account...
sorry... many questions to ask...
i work everyday, though now i dont usually work on the weekends unless there's an urgent task. so in a week it should be around 40-50 hrs depending on the volume. i try to make sure i earn a certain amount every week so how much i work depends on the money. haha.
i focus on translating but i did some transcribing tasks before. i got the audio clips from research agencies to transcribe + translate from english to BM. usually it is their focus group discussion audio. the pay was around RM120 for an hour clip. this rate is actually low because we have to transcribe and translate, 2 in 1. now i'm thinking of doing data entry, have some friends from a research firm, they have lots of samples to do. i think they pay around rm3.50-4.50 per sample. never tried this before so i'm not sure abt the rate for data entry.
i get my payment in RM, which is paid to my bank account every month and in USD, received via paypal or wire transfer to my account. normally the payment term is 30-45 days upon task completion but i do have a client who pays immediately after the task is completed.
well.... you are one of a kind... not many would do that... in a way, im kinda agree with you... a car is just a mean of transporting... a home is a shelter... but many would spend more than what is necessary just to say that the can afford all that... anyway... its their money... their choice... someone did say sometime ago.... "i worked to live, not live to work"...
yeah. i'm happy, living comfortably, have a car and a home. i think the most important thing is to have cash handy. whats the use of driving an expensive car when at the end of the month, u are groaning to pay the installment. a house is different, it is an investment. thinking of buying a house but have to consider a few things 1st.
