Minister thanks teachers on National Education Day

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Education Minister Abdul Mu’ti expressed appreciation to teachers across Indonesia for their role in advancing the national education system.

"The government thanks teachers and educators for their dedication to educating the nation," he said on Sunday.

He said National Education Day on May 2 is a moment to reflect and strengthen the spirit of national education.

He described education as a process rooted in sincerity and compassion aimed at developing human potential and dignity.

He linked these values to Ki Hajar Dewantara's among system, which emphasizes knowledge, compassion, and guidance.

He said these principles form the basis of education that promotes both academic achievement and character development.

A teacher in Banyuwangi said the occasion serves as a reminder to maintain education quality amid rapid technological change.

He added that his school promotes coding-based learning to help students use technology productively.

A student expressed hope for equal access to education across Indonesia, including in remote areas.
