Hanamichi Sakuragi is the main character of the very popular manga series “Slam Dunk” written by Takehiko Inoue. It is all about a basketball team from Shohoku High School. The series focuses about Hanamichi who is a very delinquent outcast and a leader of a gang. He is most hated by girls and rejected him as many as fifty times but believe that he could be the best man for Haruko, the younger sister of their team Captain.

The story of Hanamichi didn’t end at Slam Dunk. According to some writers, Sakuragi really lived and that the story of the series was based from it. He was born on 1968 from a family of common working class. His mother passed away when he was still in young age and this is the reason why he always commit street fights and meet violent situations inorder to cope up with the lacking of attention from parents. Sakuragi always face fights even in the sports zone in a University in Tokyo. Some believed that his experience of being a trouble maker and a fist fighter molded him to be strong, versatile and a well rounded person. This is the reason why a coach of a basketball team attracted to his abilities and possible potentials and offered Sakuragi to join the team.

In a practice game against the japan National Team, Sakuragi showed great performance with 33 points, 15 rebounds, and 3 blocks. He was so determined and didn’t feel any hesitation face the professional team. He earned a lot of appreciation from the audience. His team was lost (59- 115) but its an excellent game for him. During that time, basketball in Japan was not so popular. Later, Sakuragi named as “The hope of Japanese Basketball.”
A year later, Hanamichi’s father fell sick and he have to take care of him. His return to Tokyo made his destiny very terrible. A car hit him in his back with a very strong impact while walking near a hospital. He collapsed and was rushed to the emergence room but he was declared dead on arrival due to internal hemorrhage. He died at the very young age of 18. Basketball in Japan again began to stay cold because of that event. Takehiko Inoue wrote “Slam Dunk” base on the story of this young guy who tried to improve the level of Basketball in Japan.

aku khatam manga ni ader dekat 10 kali kot...mmg best giler...tiap2 tahun aku akan dedicate kan beberapa hari utk habiskan semua jilid2 slamdunk...non-stop sakuragi marathon...perghhhh terbakar2 jiwa ni bila baca cite ni and sbb kan slamdunk la aku blaja men basketball...sempat la wakil skolah sat...terbawak2 sampai main utk kolej....hahah sme nye gara2 sakuragi hanamichi...haaaiiitttt!!!!
