Makassar embarkation introduces two new services for Hajj pilgrims

Makassar (ANTARA) - Embarkation Hajj Organizing Committee (PPH) in Makassar introduces two new services for prospective Hajj pilgrims to improve convenience and efficiency.

"The two service innovations are pilgrim cards distribution, which is now being conducted at the Makassar Hajj Dormitory, and Saudi Arabian immigration inspection service, which is being conducted at Sultan Hasanuddin Airport," Head of the PPH, H. Ikbal Ismail said in Makassar on Tuesday.

He stated that the distribution which was previously conducted in Mecca, now it conducted at embarkation.

Furthermore, Saudi immigration inspection is now also being conducted at Sultan Hasanuddin Airport.

The total Hajj quota for South Sulawesi this year reach 9,857 people. It consist of the initial quota for 9,670 people, an additional 776 people from other provinces, and 26 people transferred between provinces.

Makassar embarkation center serves pilgrims from eight provinces in eastern Indonesia, namely South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Maluku, North Maluku, Papua, West Papua, and Southwest Papua.

A total of 16,750 pilgrims and staff will depart through the Makassar embarkation center, divided into 43 kloters. Each group will be transported on a Garuda Indonesia with a capacity of approximately 393 people.
