Ledger Eyes IPO Listing Amid Surge in Cyber Attacks

French crypto hardware wallet provider Ledger is weighing a potential New York listing as surging cyberattacks push 2025 revenues into the hundreds of millions, according to CEO Pascal Gauthier.

Founded in Paris in 2014, the company is experiencing its strongest year yet as individuals and institutions rush to secure their digital assets from increasingly advanced hackers.

The boom follows a record year for crypto-related thefts, with $2.2 billion stolen in the first half of 2025 — already surpassing the total for 2024. Roughly 23% of attacks targeted individual wallets, the FT reported, citing Chainalysis.

Gauthier said Ledger secures around $100 billion worth of Bitcoin (BTC) and may benefit further from holiday demand spikes. The firm could raise funds through a private round or U.S. listing as it expands its New York operations, emphasizing that “money is in New York today for crypto.”
