Inari rides wave of smart mobile devices

GEORGE TOWN: Inari Bhd, en route to a listing on Bursa Malaysia's ACE Market, is riding on the robust growth of global smart mobile devices, like smartphones and tablet personal computers (PC).

Inari managing director Dr Tan Seng Chuan yesterday said industry projections for smartphones and the explosion in the numbers of tablet PCs have spurred the company to expand its assembly capacity for radio frequency (RF) chips to meet the wave of smart mobile service demand.

"Having developed a strong track record in serving the semiconductor industry and the first wave of growth for smartphones and tablet PCs, we believe that we are well positioned to continue riding the momentum of strong consumer demand for these smart mobile devices in the coming years.

"In this respect, our initial public offering (IPO) is at an opportune time for us to raise the funding necessary to propel us forward and enhance our profile in the global semiconductor and electronic manufacturing services industry," he said at the launch of Inari's listing prospectus here yesterday.

For the past five years, Inari has carved a niche in providing end-to-end and vertically integrated semiconductor packaging services for chips in RF mobile technology and devices.

Its packaged chips serve as key components in the manufacturing of a wide range of high technology wireless telecommunications products in international markets, including smartphones and tablet PCs.

The robust demand for smart devices can be seen at a local reseller of Apple's iPad 2 since the product's launch at the end of April.

Apple's premium and longest serving reseller in the country, CG Computers Sdn Bhd, has seen overwhelming demand at all its 7 "Switch" storesin the Klang Valley, Penang and Sarawak.

"Customers are still unable to walk into any of our stores and pick up an iPad because they are being snapped up via pre-orders before they can even hit the shelves," CG Computers director Li Chau Ging told Business Times.

Li said although Malaysia is considered as a considerably smaller market for the iPad, its makers Apple has not been able to meet with the supply.

"We have had to stop taking orders for two weeks since the wait averages around two to three weeks and with some models, it takes between four and five weeks," he said, adding that the company hopes to take orders again by next week.

Meanwhile, Inari's IPO entails the public issue of 83 million new shares, of which 10 million shares are made available to the public via ballotting, 10.4 million shares for eligible directors, employees and business associates of the group and its subsidiaries, 26.1 million shares for private placement to selected investors and 36.5 million shares for Bumiputera investors approved by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.

Offshore oil and gas services provider, Bumi Armada Bhd, which aims to raise RM2.029 billion from its initial public offering (IPO), has an order book of RM5.8 billion as at June 1, 2011.

Its executive director/chief executive officer, Hassan Assad Basma, said the majority of the firm's contracts on its order book also contained extension options, with a potential total value of RM2.5 billion.

"Bumi Armada is a growth story and we forecast continued growth. As such, we have a good pipeline of future projects. "In floating production, storage and offloading (FSPO), we are busy
tendering for six projects now
," he told reporters after the launch of the IPO prospectus here today.

The company, which is expected to be listed on July 21, 2011, is offering 644.26 million new shares at RM3.15 apiece. It will use the proceeds to repay bank borrowing, capital expenditure,

working capital and listing expenses.

The listing is the largest in Malaysia this year and the second biggest listing in South-East Asia. After the IPO, the stake of Usaha Tegas Sdn, the parent of Bumi Armada, will be diluted to 43 per cent from 54 per cent previously.

Bumi Armada has secured cornerstone investors for its institutional offering, namely Great Eastern Life Assurance (M) Bhd, Permodalan Nasional Bhd, HwangDBS Investment Management Bhd, Prudential Fund Management Bhd, Hong Leong Assurance Bhd, Guoline Capital Ltd and Asia Foundation Investment Co Ltd.

They investors agreed to buy 300 million shares, or 10.2 per cent, of the company. On whether the institutional book would be closed early, a Maybank official said the management has not decided yet, adding that interest has been strong
since the book opened on July 28.

Hassan Assad said Bumi Armada planned to increase its presence in existing markets as well as new markets in Latin America, Africa and Asia in the next two to three years.

"It could be either on a strategic or opportunistic basis. "We will evaluate new markets as and when opportunities arise. However, we anticipate to increase our presence in existing markets including Angola, Brazil, Venezuela, India and Vietnam," he said.

He said 84.8 per cent of the company's revenue for financial year 2010 and 67.7 per cent for first quarter ended March 31, 2011 were derived from outside Malaysia.

Hassan Assad said Bumi Armada aimed to be the fourth largest FSPO player in the world in terms of fleet size by end-2013, adding that the company's plan was to have one FSPO yearly.

Bumi Armada is Malaysia's largest owner and operator of offshore vessels with about 50 vessels. For the year ended Dec 31, 2010, it recorded a net profit of RM351 million and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of
RM714 million.

For the three months ended March 31, 2011, its net profit was RM82 million and EBITDA RM185 million. Its revenue for financial year 2010 was RM1.241 billion while revenue for the first quarter ended March 31, 2011 was RM376 million. -- Bernama

Eversendai wins new RM139mil Qatar job
By B.K. SIDHU
[email protected]

PETALING JAYA: Eversendai Corp Bhd announced that it has secured a new contract in Qatar worth 165 million riyals (RM139mil), just one day before listing on Bursa Malaysia.

The contract, awarded by its major client Qatar Petroleum, involves works for Phase-4A of the Nakilat Shipyard at Port Ras Laffan in Qatar.

Eversendai managing director Datuk A.K. Nathan said the new job entailed procurement, design, fabrication, erection of structural steel works, covering linings and metal deck flooring system with electrically operated two mega-sized doors.

“This (winning the job) is a reflection of the confidence of our business partners in our specialist structural steel work expertise and proven ability to deliver on major, challenging projects with the highest quality, safety and within the stipulated timeline,'' he said.

Eversendai told Bursa that the contract was expected to have a favourable impact on the group's financial performance for the year ending Dec 31, 2011.

The group's main revenue driver is from the Middle East and its current order book excluding the new job is worth RM1.39bil, of which 72% are from the Middle East.

Eversendai is a local construction outfit specialising in structural steel supply, design and erection. It raised RM273.2mil from the IPO which will mainly be used for expansion programmes in the Middle East and India.

RHB Research describes Eversendai as “being a rare outside-looking-in” company that has excelled abroad, particularly in the Middle East, based on its own strength, practically almost indifferent to the local construction cycle.''

“Its has a strong market position in UAE (United Arab Emirates) and Qatar by virtue of its 26.5% market share in terms of fabrication capacity,'' RHB Research said in its note.

TA Securities said Eversendai was unique for its mastery in one portion of the construction value chain structural steel design, supply and erection. “We also believe that Eversendai would benefit from mega projects initiated by the Government such as the RM50bil Klang Valley mass rapid transit and the RM100bil Pengerang oil and gas hub,'' TA said.

Nathan will hold 70% stake in the group post-IPO.

p/s: berita ni sudah pasti mempengaruhi premium IPO ni yg bakal disenaraikan Hari Ini..saya x cuba, krn reserve fund utk IPO lain..syabas bagi yg Berjaya
