Initial Public Offering (IPO)

mcm mana nk buat yer..nk miti tk layak..nk apply ipo susah nak dapat.. nak main open market asek kalah jer..boleh ke otai kat sini tolong

Semua orang layak utk memohon saham terbitan awam kat miti tu. Syarat yg kat situ ramai yg salah faham.

Contohnya:
1. Short term (Hit and run on day one listing) or long term?
2. Expected target price to sell on day one listing? Realistik kalau harga saham boleh cecah RM2.70? (c.f. harga IP0 RM2.20)
3. Expected target price to sell on long term basis?

Agak2 "tembakan buta" saya:
1. long term lagi bagus.
2. ?
3. Selepas 2 tahun RM3 hingga 4.00.

Terima kasih kerana membantu.

soalan saya kepada pelabur2 otai disini..

selepas listing Gas M'sia ni nanti, bilakah dan apakah harga yang sesuai untuk kita melakukan jualan (max profit) sekiranya strategi yg dipakai ialah 'hit and run' dimana run tu tak perlu cepat2 sangat.. adakah graph akan menaik dlm masa 1-2 bulan?

Strong demand expected for Gas Malaysia's IPO

Strong demand expected for Gas Malaysia's IPO
By Kamarul yunus
Published: 2012/05/08

KUALA LUMPUR: MMC Corp Bhd is optimistic regarding the proposed listing of its subsidiary, Gas Malaysia Bhd, this year due to encouraging demand for Malaysian stocks and ample liquidity in the local market.

"Yes, we are quite confident that the listing (of Gas Malaysia) is timely as the market is there. We also have ample liquidity.

"Based on the feedback from Miti (Ministry of International Trade and Industry), Gas Malaysia stocks are oversusbcribed," said MMC group managing director Datuk Hasni Harun recently.

Gas Malaysia is slated to be traded on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia in the second quarter of the year.

He said Malaysian stocks were currently on foreign investors' radar, although they were not that aggressive in buying the shares as they needed certainty on the impending 13th general election before making investment decisions.

"When we went on our roadshows in London and Edinburgh for the proposed listing of Gas Malaysia, we noted that there was demand for Malaysian stocks," he said.

Hasni said he was confident that Gas Malaysia's initial public offering (IPO) would materialise soon as everything had been put in place.

"We are ready. In fact, all the Bumiputera shares have been allocated. They are just waiting for approval from the Securities Commission."

He also said MMC was bullish of Gas Malaysia's prospects as it was poised to deliver strong and sustainable performance, driven by continued demand from industrial customers.

"Gas Malaysia is the sole supplier of natural gas to the non-power sector and currently supplies energy to more than 700 industrial, 13,352 residential and 528 commercial customers in Peninsular Malaysia."

He said Gas Malaysia's steady cashflow and strong balance sheet with zero-gearing track record would attract good investor response for the IPO.

"It is expected to become a strong dividend-yielding stock," he said.

On competition from other players in the gas supply and distribution business, Hasni said he expected no new players except for Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas).

"If they (Petronas) want to do their own business in the gas industry, they can but as a national oil company, they have a bigger agenda.

"For other players to come in, they have to apply for a licence and for those who want to import liquefied natural gas, they need high capex.

"An advantage for Gas Malaysia is that we have a ready pipeline network of about 1,800km to various industrial zones," he said.

Gas Malaysia's shareholders include Tokyo Gas, Mitsui & Co Holdings Sdn Bhd, Petronas Gas Bhd and MMC-Shapadu (Holdings) Sdn Bhd.

Ni pulak pandangan saya berdasarkan keadaan dan prestasi sykt.
1. Memang long term bagus. Bisnes dlm industri yg sangat kurang saingan.

GAS MALAYSIA BHD

By PublicInvest Research

Fair value: RM2.24

EN ROUTE to a listing on Bursa Malaysia next month, Gas Malaysia's initial public offering (IPO) is expected to raise about RM734mil.

Based on the retail IPO price of RM2.20 per share, Gas Malaysia's market capitalisation will be RM2.8bil upon listing and trading at an expected 18 times of financial year 2012 price-to-earnings ratio. It is seen as a safe haven dividend play.

Gas Malaysia principally markets and distributes natural gas to customers in Peninsular Malaysia consuming less than two million standard cu ft per day (MMScfd).

However, this maximum limit has recently been increased to five MMScfd under a new gas supply agreement, which will take effect from January 2013.

At present, Gas Malaysia does not require additional equity funding for its business, hence will not be issuing any new shares under the IPO.

There is positive cashflow and no outstanding borrowings.

Its existing cash and cash equivalents and credit sources will be sufficient to meet anticipated needs for working capital.

The company will spend about RM140mil for pipeline network expansion this year. This will involve an additional 70km to 90km of pipeline to complement the existing 1,800km network in Peninsular Malaysia.

For subsequent years, capital requirements will be between RM30mil and RM40mil per annum.

The company intends to pay out 100% of its net profit for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2012 (FY12) and thereafter, targets a payout ratio of not less than 75% of net profits.

Based on our FY12 and FY13 estimates, we expect dividend yields of 4.4% and 3.9% respectively.

We derive a fair value of RM2.24 for Gas Malaysia, pegging a 20% discount to Petronas Gas Bhd's (the other major player in Malaysia's natural gas industry) price-to-book value for FY13.

We opine that the discount is justifiable, given Gas Malaysia's smaller market share compared with Petronas Gas, its distribution network being limited only to Peninsular Malaysia, and quota on the gas supplies.

It should be noted that Gas Malaysia only has a 13.5% market share in Peninsular Malaysia's natural gas market while Petronas Gas owns the remainder.

Also, Gas Malaysia only serves customers in the peninsula while Petronas Gas has a more extensive network covering Peninsular Malaysia as well as Sabah and Sarawak.

Currently, Petronas Gas serves customers who use high volumes (more than two MMScfd per customer) of natural gas, mostly to power plants operated by Tenaga Nasional Bhd as well as independent power producers in Peninsular Malaysia.

Given the lower usage of Gas Malaysia's customers, a natural inclination toward Petronas Gas' own customers may limit supplies should instances of shortages occur and adversely affect Gas Malaysia's profitability
