Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower and the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) are offering certification in 15 competency areas for graduates of the government's National Internship program, known as MagangHub.

"Competency certification is a crucial instrument to ensure MagangHub graduates receive formal recognition of their skills and are better positioned to compete in the labor market," Manpower Minister Yassierli said on Tuesday.

He said the certification initiative complements the National Internship program, which aims to improve workforce quality and narrow the gap between available skills and industry demand.

The 15 certification schemes were designed to match industry needs, covering office administration, junior secretary services, assistant web development, digital marketing, graphic design, financial reporting, and human resources supervision.

Participants can also obtain certification in customer service, front-office operations, computer operation, digital archiving, audiovisual production, data analysis, and occupational health and safety, among other fields.

Yassierli said BNSP is implementing the certification program in cooperation with vocational training centers operated by the ministry across cities and districts nationwide.

The ministry has identified several centers ready to provide the program, including facilities in Makassar, Medan, and Surakarta, each offering 15 certification schemes, and a center in Bekasi providing 11.

Training centers with smaller certification portfolios are located in Bandung, Aceh, Padang, Samarinda, Kendari, Banyuwangi, Ternate, Bantaeng, Pangkajene Islands, Belitung, Serang, East Lombok, Ambon, Sorong, West Bandung, and Sidoarjo.

Overall, the Ministry of Manpower offers 180 certification schemes through its vocational training centers across multiple provinces as part of efforts to strengthen workforce competitiveness.
