Indonesia, Azerbaijan seek stronger human resource cooperation

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Manpower Yassierli highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation between Indonesia and Azerbaijan in the field of human resources development.

“Human resources development has become an increasingly vital pillar of our bilateral partnership,” Yassierli said during the celebration of the 108th Independence Day of Azerbaijan in Jakarta on Thursday.

He noted that both countries have significant potential to strengthen cooperation connecting markets, regions, and communities. In this regard, collaboration in human resources development has become increasingly important.

According to the minister, the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two governments on human resources development provides a concrete framework for advancing cooperation in areas highly relevant to the future of work and sustainable economic transformation.

To support this goal, both countries continue to strengthen cooperation in social security systems, vocational education and training, job skills development, labor market improvement, and social protection for Indonesian migrant workers.

These priorities are increasingly important as both nations prepare a workforce that is resilient, adaptive, and globally competitive, Yassierli stated.

“We believe that stronger cooperation in these sectors will contribute not only to institutional capacity building and workforce readiness, but also to inclusive growth and long-term economic resilience in both countries,” he added.

The minister also underscored the importance of joint efforts by Indonesia and Azerbaijan to strengthen cooperation among developing countries amid current global challenges.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijan Ambassador to Indonesia Ramil Abil Rzayev Oglu highlighted the importance of bilateral relations between the two countries across various sectors, including economic cooperation, investment, digital transformation, and tourism.
